While hanging out our laundry this evening, a splash of red under our banana tree caught my eye…a tomato!
Some time ago, I added kitchen scraps and compost to the base of the fruit trees in our backyard. Some of the seeds in the kitchen scraps survived and produced plants.
Our tomato plant has three petite Roma tomatoes, two green and one ready to eat.
My little one got excited and started digging around; she found a handful of tiny potatoes. We can’t eat the potatoes because we water our fruit trees with grey-water, but it’s awesome to have little volunteer veggies
